The YLAG is excited to be back for the third year of its Youth Impact Fund. It is a fund run by us, for young people right across the rural Forth Valley and Lomond area (check out the map here if you're not sure).
The Youth Impact Fund is designed to empower young people in the rural Forth Valley and Lomond region to bring their ideas to life and create positive change in their communities. The fund is managed by the Youth Local Action Group (YLAG), for young people.
Individuals can receive funding of up to £750, while groups may apply for up to £2000*. *Larger amounts may be considered by exception - please get in touch with youthimpactfund@fvl.org.uk to discuss BEFORE your submission.
Applications will be available from 8th June 2026 until 19th July 2026 (11:59pm). Projects should be completed within the specified timeline after receiving approval.
Individuals between the age of 16 and 30 staying, working or studying the rural Forth Valley and Lomond region can apply.
Submissions are encouraged from both individuals and groups. Groups should include 3 or more young people collaborating on a project.
The fund backs projects led by young people that fulfil one or more of the following priorities:

We are the Forth Valley and Lomond Youth Local Action Group. Our members come from across the Stirling and Clacks council areas.
We are part of a growing family of Youth Local Action Groups (“YLAG”) organised in rural regions across Scotland, originally inspired by the EUROPARC Youth Project in rural Europe.
We are a group of young people between the ages of 16 and 30(ish) who care about our local area and hope to improve rural living for young people, now and in the future!
We’re here to support local youth voices and ideas to enable solutions and ambitions. We aim to do so by focusing on our groups priorities:
1. Better connectivity
2. Protecting the environment
3. Adequate resources for healthy living
4. Facilitating young peoples needs
We are also looking for new members on a rolling basis - will this be you? We are flexible around existing time commitments and keen to build up and celebrate all the diversity, skills, and awesomeness in our YLAG!
Why not check out our Handbook below or e-mail us at youthimpactfund@fvl.org.uk get to find out how you can get involved.
"Living in a rural area, I've really felt a lack of connectivity and through the YLAG, I've felt that there's really been a chance for me to share my voice in a way that I haven't been able to before"
"There has been so many highlights, it's just been so much fun! A key one I'd like to pick out is the residential to Orkney where all of the YLAGs in Scotland gathered for an event to learn from groups that more developed, so we learned the art of the possible. We also had the opportunity to explore a new place, as well as making new connections and friendships"
"A highlight for me has been being able to meet people from all over Scotland as well as people who are similar to myself and share similar interests"
"When we went to the Scottish Parliament, I think that was a key mile stone for all the YLAGs around Scotland. Coming together and delivering on those ten principles that we outlined to the Scottish Government"
